Dear Students,
It gives me immense pleasure, on behalf of the University College Council, Management, staff and the entire Makueni University College community, to warmly welcome you to Makueni University College as you join us for the 2026/2027 academic year. Your admission marks a very special moment in our history because you are the first cohort of government-sponsored students to be admitted to this vibrant and young University College. We are delighted that you have chosen to begin this important chapter of your academic journey with us.

As you step into the University College, you are not merely joining an institution of higher learning; you are becoming pioneers and builders of a new academic community. The opportunities before you are immense. You will be challenged to acquire knowledge, develop practical skills, think critically, embrace innovation, conduct research, and become responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the development of our nation and beyond. As a young institution, we are equally committed to growing with you, listening to your ideas, nurturing your talents and creating an environment in which every student can thrive.

University life comes with greater freedom, but also greater responsibility. I encourage you to take ownership of your academic journey from the very beginning. Attend your lectures consistently, manage your time wisely, make good use of the library and other learning resources, and seek guidance whenever you encounter academic or personal challenges. Build positive relationships with your lecturers, fellow students and staff. Participate actively in student leadership, clubs, societies, sports, innovation and community engagement. Your character, discipline, integrity and attitude will be just as important as the degree you eventually earn.

As the Registrar, Academics and Student Affairs, I wish to assure you that our office is committed to supporting your academic success, welfare and holistic development. We are here to facilitate a smooth transition into university life and to provide guidance on academic matters, examinations, student records, welfare and other aspects of your university experience. I encourage you to familiarize yourselves with the University College rules, regulations and policies, and to always seek clarification from the appropriate offices whenever you are uncertain.
